At nine, my friendship with Joan — who used a wheelchair because of cerebral palsy — taught me what it means to care for another person. Helping her in the pool and with daily tasks opened the first door to healing and set me on a path of service.
I began my career in Respiratory Therapy and planned to attend medical school, but after my father encouraged me to consider psychology and business, I followed his advice. I completed pre-med and psychology at Avila University and earned my master’s in psychology from the University of Kansas, which led to licensure and private practice.
Early in my training I worked with a Jungian analyst and even spent a summer at the Jung Institute in Zurich — but my interests shifted toward homeopathy, and I studied at the Boulder School for Classical Homeopathy. Along the way I learned deeply about trauma and resilience.
My first counseling role at the Northeast Family Center in Kansas City grew into community outreach: I helped establish programs supporting the first AIDS hospice, a food pantry for people experiencing homelessness, and other vital services. Later in Denver, I served adults with serious mental illness through CHARG Resource Center and worked with SafeHouse Denver, Stout Street Clinic, and Denver Rescue Mission to connect people with housing and emotional support.
Opening a private practice in Cherry Creek was a dream come true — I’ve always loved working with adults and couples. In 2008, I shifted to support military families and found a role as a traveling Military Family Life Counselor, serving installations across the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Hawaii, and Europe.
Today I work remotely with coaching and counseling clients across Colorado, Wyoming, and beyond. After more than 25 years in this work,
I remain passionate about helping people heal, grow, and find meaning in their lives.
